Ernest first entered the Hospitality industry at 14 years old as a Dishwasher and hasn’t looked back since. He has worked in restaurants from the East Coast to the West Coast and many points in between, holding positions from GM to Director of Operations. He was the Manager on Duty at 17 years old at a local steak house in his home town in Michigan and only left them when he received a football scholarship to Northern Iowa University. While in school Ernest continued to work in Hospitality at the Stein Inn, a restaurant by day and nightclub by night during his off season, and summers. In 1999 Ernest left Northern Iowa U and returned home and walked on at Eastern Michigan University Division 1A football program beating out 250 other walk-ons. Ernest then started working as the Manager on Duty at the Edge Night club in Ypsilanti, Michigan, after leaving school, Ernest joined P.F. Chang’s and would become a Managing Partner for their Stamford, CT location.
Ernest then moved to SO. CA to become the District Manager for NSG Restaurant Group formally known as Spectrum. After four years in that role Ernest decided to move back to the East Coast and became the General Manager for an East Coast restaurant company working in a number of their locations.
Looking for warmer weather he moved to Las Vegas and became the Director of Operations for a few venues on the Las Vegas Strip. Earnest then spent some time in San Francisco and Los Angeles as Director of Operations for some locally owned and operated restaurants.
After 25 years in restaurant operations, Ernest decided it was time to leave operations and help others find that career opportunity that can propel them to the top of their profession. He is ecstatic to join EHS Hospitality Group and is looking forward to helping candidates find that perfect career opportunity.
